Mindfulness
It is very easy to spend our time paying very little attention to what is happening in the present, and this may mean that we can become unaware of much of our experience. Mindfulness is the practise of staying in the moment, spending time being present in ourselves, and our surroundings. Not trying to change things but trying instead to accept the way that things are.
By learning the practice of mindfulness , you can gain more insight into your emotions, boost your attention and concentration and improve relationships. It can also help with stress, anxiety, panic, OCD, depression and addictive behaviours, and can also have a positive effect on physical problems like hypertension, heart disease and chronic pain.
Mindfulness can be taught in isolation or alongside other therapies.
